On the 4th of April, 2006 2006 representatives of Universities of Belarusian and Russian boarding
regions, aspiring to develop mutually beneficial scientific, cultural, educational contacts, mutual understanding and friendship among
teaching staffs, social organizations, students and individual scientists from the fraternal peoples’ Universities, concluded an agreement
of international cooperation between Universities and other educational institutions of boarding regions of Belarus (Vitebsk, Gomel and
Mogilev) and Russia (Bryansk, Pskov and Smolensk).
At present the Association includes 29 participants.
In the context of the association’s activity the work is carried out in the following directions:
• assistance to the process of forming and developing unified educational space;
• creating conditions for providing Belarusian and Russian residents equal rights in receiving modern education, access to common information
resources, cultural values and scientific achievements);
• establishing mutually beneficial scientific, educational and cultural connections on the international level;
• promoting better mutual understanding among the Universities’ academic staffs, public organizations, students and individual scientists
and teachers;
• promoting cooperation of the Universities on the international market of educational and scientific services;
• representing common interests in the interaction with state authorities of the contracting parties, international, regional and national
organizations, funds and programmes in the field of education, science and culture.
