Polytechnic BSTU Polytechnic is one of the oldest educational institutions in
Bryansk and Bryansk region.
College was founded by princess Maria K. Tenisheva and her spouse Vyacheslav
N. Tenishev. In 1892 M.K. Tenisheva founded a craft school which trained locksmiths, joiners, blacksmiths, and also evening classes of
drawing.
Tenisheva Maria Klavdievna was the first in Bryansk region to start the
youth’s vocational training. The first 2-storeyed college building was built in 1894. Now it is a monument of architecture. In 1896 Russian
Tsar Nikolay II expressed gratitude to the Tenishevs for their contribution to national education.
The evening workers’ technical school in Bezhitsa was founded in 1921.
In 1930 it was transformed to Bezhitsa Machine-Building Technical School.
In December, 1964 Bezhitsa Machine-Building Technical School was renamed
into Bryansk Polytechnical School.
In 1991 Bryansk Polytechnical School was transformed to Bryansk Polytechnic
College n.a. N.A. Kubyak.
